Volunteering

Our Volunteers – The Heart of Olive Tree Cancer Support
Volunteering with Olive Tree Cancer Support is a rewarding way to support people affected by cancer while becoming part of a caring and supportive community. By volunteering your time, skills, and experience, you help us provide vital services in a warm, welcoming environment.
Volunteering also offers the opportunity to:
Use your existing skills and develop new ones
Gain valuable experience
Meet new people and build meaningful connections
Be part of a compassionate and dedicated team
Below are brief descriptions of some of our current volunteering opportunities. Our roles are also listed on the national volunteering website.

Trustees
Our Trustees play a vital role in overseeing the management and administration of Olive Tree Cancer Support, ensuring the charity is well run, sustainable, and effective. Typically, this role requires 2 to 3 hours per month, including attending a monthly meeting to discuss key areas such as fundraising, events, service provision, and volunteer recruitment.
Volunteers
Can you give 1 or 2 hours a week or fortnight to help us? We need all kinds of volunteers, from front desk support to assisting with workshops and helping with community fundraisers. If this sounds like you, please get in touch with your local office to find out more about how we can use your expertise to support the Olive Tree community.
Therapists
Complementary therapies are an important part of the holistic support we offer. All complementary therapists must be fully qualified in their therapy, hold appropriate insurance, and be members of a recognised professional association. If you can donate 2 to 3 hours of your time on a weekly or fortnightly basis to support our members and their loved ones, please get in touch.
Counsellors
Olive Tree Cancer Support offers counselling services to our members and their loved ones affected by cancer. Qualified counsellors must be members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). We welcome applications from qualified counsellors and trainee counsellors in their second year of training, provided they have completed a minimum of 50 clinical hours.
